El día 22 de mayo alrededor de 500 personas acudieron al consulado móvil de México que visitaba por segunda vez la ciudad de Willmar y ofrecía la posibilidad de tener al día los documentos de México. El consulado de México en St. Paul se movilizó con un equipo de 20 personas para realizar de una forma rápida y eficiente los trámites de pasaporte y matrícula consular que se entregaron el mismo día. Dentro del evento también se ofrecieron servicios por parte del Banco Heritage y Abogados Antonio Tejeda. El licenciado Roberto Galindez representante de la secretaría de Desarrollo Social (SEDESOL) quien fue invitado por el consulado para explicar este nuevo programa que busca crear empleos para los familiares que se encuentran en México. Roberto dice que Este un fondo del Gobierno Federal que apoya a los migrantes para que lleven a cabo proyectos productivos individuales o familiares que generen empleo y fortalezcan el patrimonio de las familias en sus comunidades de origen. El fondo opera con las aportaciones de los migrantes en el extranjero y del Gobierno Federal. Por cada peso que pone el migrante, la SEDESOL aporta otro adicional. Se utilizará hasta el 15% para financiar acompañamiento y asesoría técnica. Aportación máxima de la SEDESOL: 300 mil pesos por proyecto.
